(TruthSeekerDaily)  Spent tear-gas grenades litter the war torn Palestinian village of Bilin, near the State of Palestine’s de facto capital of Ramallah.  A native woman to the area collected these tragic tools of death and destruction that represented the clashes between Israeli soldiers, to use in a poignant display of peaceful resistance.  What they become is beautifully opposite of they once were.

The village women has grown flowers, a sign of life, into the spent grenades that had robbed so many people of their future.  Further, the flowers are being grown on a plot of land located in an area that was reclaimed by Palestinians two years ago in a court battle that re-routed the construction of Israel’s highly controversial security wall.  When this wall is completed, it will stretch an impressive 430 miles around the entire West Bank region.

There is seemingly endless supply of these so-called planters due to the high tensions and frequent clashes between Israelis and Palestinian. Some of them even have wires attached so that they can be attached to fences or other objects.

In this war torn region which many people on both sides are tired of the seemingly never-ending violence and conflict, the planters made from tools intended to decimate the area makes an especially powerful statement.  The creative human spirit shines through despite the conflict on both sides of the fence.

These planters are proof that the conflict has failed to completely defeat the human spirit.  Maybe these plants will bring hope to those struggling there that both nations’ leaders will come to a peaceful agreement sooner, rather than later.
