(TruthSeekerDaily) Today marks the 70 year anniversary of D-Day, when the Allied soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy. This operation effectively turned the tide against the Axis powers in World War II.
Today, those monumental beaches that were ravaged by war and forever remembered for the bravery that took place there during battle, are now being used for an entirely different purpose. Tourists vacation there for rest and relaxation and to soak of the warmth of the sun. The beauty of these beaches has been restored over time and it’s hard to imagine what they looked like on D-Day.

The differences between now and then is a study in contrasts. On this anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, remember this important, yet still very tragic day, as there were approximately 12,000 casualties; 4,414 confirmed dead.

Today marks the anniversary of the largest seaborne invasion in history, that began the invasion of German-occupied western Europe. These pictures are proof that triumph can come from tragedy and out of the ashes, beauty emerges.
