(TruthSeekerDaily) An elderly couple who had an on-going tradition of dining at their local Red Lobster restaurant every year on their anniversary, had a sudden end to this annual outing after the woman’s husband passed from Cancer. Little did the grieving wife know, she was about to get another special dining experience at this particular establishment.
Reddit user “Coppin-it-washin-it” took to the social media site to share what the Red Lobster restaurant did to help his grieving mother. In order to keep the tradition going after his father’s passing, the user’s sister accompanied her mother to the restaurant, but when they went to pay, they received a touching note from the server.
“We are sorry to hear husband’s passing, but we appreciate your loyalty in spending 31 years of your anniversary with us,” writes the server Taylor on behalf of the restaurant. “For our appreciation, your meal is on us! We look forward to spending your next anniversary with us.”
After posting the sweetly sentimental experience on Reddit, other readers reached out to share similar experiences that they’ve had with the same restaurant chain.
“We had a fellow come into our Red Lobster a couple of months ago. He said that it was special because he and his wife ate there before she started her round of chemo a year ago. Unfortunately, she didn’t beat cancer, but he went anyway to keep her memory alive,” wrote one user. “We paid for his meal and gave him a $25 gift card to show our appreciation of him spending his time with us, even though his wife couldn’t join.”
The touching not this server gave this mother in mourning, meant more to her than the meal itself. It reminded her of years of special memories with the lover of her life, and was a kind gesture to warm her aching heart. Incidences like this are what restores our faith in humanity.
